The implications of higher student tuition fees

Imperial Business Partners held the 2012 Spring event on 13 March.

An executive discussion prior to drinks and dinner took ‘The Strategic Implications of Higher Student Tuition Fees for the Talent Pool for Global Businesses Recruiting in the UK’ for its subject. The discussion was introduced by Professor Julia Buckingham and non-IBP contributing guests included Sir Adrian Smith, Director General of Knowledge & Innovation at BIS, and Dr Wendy Piatt, Director General of the Russell Group.

The discussion was followed by a trip to the Reach Out Lab, where guests spoke with school students in the middle of hands on experiments and investigations. Over dinner, Professor Lord Robert Winston, who has championed the Reach Out Lab since its inception, shared his views on government policy for science and technology funding.

Material produced by IBP for the event can be found here, as well as the programme for the evening.
