Paul joined as a graduate in 1988 having completed a BSc in Control, Instrumentation and Systems Engineering. He then completed an MSc and PhD in Process Automation whilst working for BP in the 1990’s. Paul initially joined BP Engineering, moving to BP Chemicals’ Hull site in 1990.
In 2004 he became the Advisor for Advanced Control within BP’s Petrochemicals Segment. In the same year he moved to BP’s Exploration and Production (E&P) Segment. In 2006 he became the Segment Engineering Technical Authority (SETA) for Control & Automation supporting projects and operations across all business units.
In 2011 he became Chief Engineer in Upstream for the Electrical, Control & Automation, Instruments & Protective Systems, Measurement and Telecommunications disciplines.
