Jon joined BP in 2011 as Technology Director for its automotive lubricant business, with global responsibility for engine oil product development, and has recently taken up his new role at Castrol Innoventures.

Previously, Jon spent nine years with QinetiQ leading up to and beyond IPO, latterly as Director of Business Strategy and Technology Management. This role brought together responsibility for strategy, marketing planning and the Chief Technology Office. Prior to this, Jon spent 11 years with ICI and four with Schlumberger Cambridge Research, while completing his doctorate.

Jon holds a BSc in Physics and Mathematics from the University of St Andrews, a PhD in Electronic and Chemical Engineering from UMIST (now the University of Manchester), and undertook the advanced industrial marketing programme at INSEAD.
