Dieter joined the Korean LG Group in 1998 and co-founded the LG Technology Center Europe (LGTCE) which is located near Düsseldorf, Germany. In 2001, he became the Head of LGTCE and expanded its activities continuously. Today, LGTCE plays an important role in identifying and evaluating potential partners for LG and in managing technology transfer, licensing and joint development projects between LG and European partners. LGTCE covers a wide range of advanced technologies with focus on electronics, chemistry, displays and ‘green’ technologies.

Before joining LG, Dieter worked for six years as a process engineer and project manager in the plant-building industry. He designed steam generators, power plants and environmental systems. He studied environmental technology at the Technical University of Berlin and received his PhD from the Technical University of Munich in 1991.
